M.Tuzum Kizilcan Tuzum Kizilcan started his ceramic education with Fureya Koral in 1959. After graduating from the main artistic ceramic department at Werkkunts Schule Offenbach,a main ceramic institute in Germany, he established his own ceramic plant in Izmir in early 1970s. The artist, works mainly on architectural ceramic, application ceramic and his own personal exhibitions. Between the years 1988-1998, he was a training instructor at Ege University and the Ceramic and Traditional Handycraft and Porcelain Department of Dokuz Eylul University. Mr. Kizilcan attended many national and international competitions. 1962 he was awarded a silver medal at “Exposition Internetionele de la Ceramique Contemporaine” at Prague. His latest award was given by Dokuz Eylul University as “honorary ceramic artist” in 2007. There are many of his works at Izmir Resim Heykel Museum, Arizona University Museum, Canakkale Ceramic Museum, and Prague Decorative Arts Museum. In addition many of his works are collected by private art collectors. The artist is focused on artistic and technical union and balance in his works. Mr. Kizilcan while trying to preserve his creative and investigating character, has been using “sagar technique” in his works for 10 years. |
